Ice Skating in the City

We went with friends down to city hall for some outside fun. I really love the pictures with the city looming in the background. It seems so far away from the country life that we lead back in North Carolina!

Winter Sports

Jack and Jenna did basketball this winter. Jack had a rough start but really improved dramatically by the end of the season. He was on the Knicks. Ben and I were very proud of him!

Jenna had fun playing with the little hoops. It was fun to watch her progress. The little kids didn't have any games just practice, practice, practice and of course snack!

Katie did swim team. She got so strong over the season as they practiced daily for 2 hours. Her strokes improved and she did well in her age group as she was still in the 8 and under group. At her very first meet, she swam a goood 50 meter freestyle in her first event. After getting out of the pool, she began to walk away only to have her coach pull her back to swim the lead position for the next event which was a 200 meter relay because events had been scratched. So here my baby got back up on the blocks only to swim another 50 meters. She was the golden girl that day. Everyone yelled and cheered for her....it was quite a first experience!

If you click on the link below it will take you to the Oshkoshbgosh Korean site. Jenna is on the first page but if you click on the blue button that says Summer 2007, she also appears on pages 20 - 29 of the online catalog.

Well...I tried to link it but was unable.....just go ahead and cut and paste the website into your browser and it should work.

Modeling

Well children's modeling is big business here in Korea. The first week we were here in Korea I was approached by an agent who wanted to take pictures of the kids and measure them. I am glad that I was told of this practice beforehand otherwise I would have been extremely leary of the whole thing. Now it is a common ocurrence for the kids....you can be anywhere in the store, at the playground or even just taking the garbage out and these agents come out of no where and ask to do the measuring and picture taking thing. All three kids have had this done repeatedly without any luck of jobs until out of the blue an agent called for Jenna. Now over the past year, Jenna has made more than $2,000 doing modeling jobs. She has modeled for both Korean and American clothing companies. Jack has worked too modeling bathing suits but poor Katie hasn't. There doesn't seem to be a real rhyme or reason after talking to other parents as to who works and who doesn't but it seems as if you say yes to a job just once you have more opportunities to work again.

Here are a few pictures of Jenna is action.
